BCST for Families
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy meets you where you are. It’s gentle and safe for all ages, and I am especially passionate about working with and witnessing families as they grow.
During Pregnancy and postpartum, BCST can help;
Soften the body for relief from pain and tension, for birth preparation and recovery postpartum. It connects with the body’s wisdom and innate ability to heal after birth.
Ease nausea or digestive discomfort
Support restful sleep
Assist the body in processing conception, pregnancy and birth experiences
Support settling of the nervous system, helping with feelings of anxiety, stress, overwhelm and fatigue.
Support families as they go through transition stages, with shifting family dynamics and transitions into parenthood.
For newborns, it can be especially powerful, they are very responsive to the grounded and present touch that BCST provides. It can help;
Processing of their birth experience
Softening the body which can assist with feeding and latch difficulties, digestive discomfort, head/neck tension
Unsettled behaviours, general regulation and calming of the nervous system
Integrating their transition into the world
Bonding with caregivers
*It is strongly encouraged that where possible, babies are treated along with their birthing parent. For those with a newborn you will know that for a time after birth, there is no separation between you and them. You are the centre of their universe, and in BCST we treat you as such.
For children and teens, BCST can help with;
Settling the nervous system. This can help with emotional overwhelm, sensory overload, feelings of anxiety and stress
Difficulty settling, night waking or sleep difficulties
Physical and emotional recovery after illness and accidents
Family nervous system support during big transitions
*It’s recommended that prior to bringing in any children or teens, we find time for a confidential conversation ahead of time. This allows you as the parent/carer to share openly any concerns you may have without negatively impacting the child/teen. You are also required to be present for the duration of their treatments.
